Creative Research Laboratory Fund
As one of the most comprehensive arts programs in the nation, the Department of Art and Art History aims to provide all Texans with exceptional opportunities for artistic scholarship, practice, and exhibition. To this end, the Department has established the Creative Research Laboratory in East Austin to forge greater interaction among professional artists, the University, and the larger community through the arts. The mission of the Creative Research Laboratory is to professionally exhibit student and faculty artwork as an integrated aspect of sound educational practice. With an art gallery, lecture space, and faculty studios, the Creative Research Laboratory provides diverse arts education and programming throughout the year to audiences of all ages. The Creative Research Laboratory presents regular exhibitions and public lectures in addition to sponsoring youth arts programs.

As a vital part of the Texas arts community, the Creative Research Laboratory depends on support from Department of Art and Art History friends and alumni. Supporting the Creative Research Laboratory is a significant way to contribute to the arts community while ensuring the sustainability and success of this unique arts education facility. By contributing $2,000 annually to the Creative Research Laboratory for five years, supporters have the opportunity to join The Friends of the CRL. Members of this group receive special benefits and are invited to attend exclusive events at the Creative Research Laboratory.

To learn more about how you can join The Friends of the CRL and make a lasting contribution to the arts in the state of Texas, please contact Carolyn Porter, Assistant Director of Development, at 512-471-3379 or carolynp@mail.utexas.edu.

Study Abroad Endowment Fund
The Department of Art and Art History believes that study abroad opportunities are an important way for students to enhance their arts education. Therefore, we have established a Study Abroad Endowment Fund to offer our finest students with financial needs an opportunity for international scholarship.

Each year, over fifty of our students participate in our Study In Italy study abroad program. Established in 1984, the interdisciplinary program is sponsored by the School of Architecture, the College of Fine Arts, and the College of Liberal Arts. With its home base in the hills of Tuscany, it presents students with a unique understanding of Italy's profound influence on the development of Western civilization through the exploration of art, history, architecture, philosophy, and culture. Offered during the summer and fall terms, the program is administered and taught by University of Texas faculty from all three colleges.

To learn more about how you can provide some of our brightest students with an opportunity to participate in study abroad programs such as Study in Italy, please contact Carolyn Porter, Assistant Director of Development, at 512-471-3379 or carolynp@mail.utexas.edu.
