Katalin Hausel received her M.F.A. in Painting at UT-Austin in May, 2006. She previously earned a B.A. in History in 1993 and a M.A. in Philosophy in 1996 from Eotvos Lorant University, Budapest, Hungary. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around Austin, including Closed Caption, Umlauf Sculpture Garden, (2006); Leaf, Gallery 3 (2006); Terra Cognita, Cinematexas (2005); Shade , Creative Research Laboratory (2005); SPROUT! , Austin Museum of Art—Laguna Gloria (2004); and Construction Site, AMLI Downtown, (2004). She was awarded the Dedalus Foundation M.F.A. Award in 2005, and the Umlauf prize in 2006.
