John’s first degree is B.A. in Human Ecology from The College of the Atlantic in 1989. The primary focus of that degree was philosophy, mathematics, writing, and at the very end some art. In 2003 John graduated with his second degree, this time in Studio Art, from The University of Texas at Austin. While there he primarily concentrated in nonferrous art metals and photography. Since graduating he has supported the Metal and Photography labs, and in addition he assists in ARTL. His primary functions include troubleshooting and maintaining existing equipment, installing new equipment, supporting the color managed workflow in the photography lab, and maintaining the safety environment of the labs, especially metals.
