Michael Scanlon provides administrative, conference and publications support for

• the annual Maya Meetings at Texas
• The Mesoamerica Center
• the D. J. Sibley Family Conference on World Traditions of Culture and Art
• and other pre-Columbian art history projects.

Michael Scanlon holds a B.A. in English and Latin American Studies and has continued with graduate work in Hispanic literature and culture. Having grown up in Guatemala, he has a longstanding avocational interest in pre-Columbian art, and has attended many Maya Meetings over the years, as well as serving as a volunteer. Michael has taught Spanish, has extensive experience in libraries, and has worked as an editor and translator. His research interests include Iberian medieval and Golden Age literature, Latin American colonial studies, comparative drama, and cultures in contact.
