Former Students (Former Department of Art and Art History Majors Only)

Instructions for Online Undergraduate Portfolio Submission

 

If you are a former UT Austin student who was last an undergraduate major in our department, you will need to complete an Application for Readmission as a Former Student with the UT Austin Office of Admissions. If you wish to participate in the advising and registration period that occurs in the semester preceding the semester you wish to return to UT Austin, it is required that you complete the readmission process well in advance of the deadlines and advising periods (April for Summer and Fall enrollment and October for Spring enrollment). You may consult the academic calendar for those dates. Readmission deadlines for former students are as follows: JULY 1 for Fall semester; DECEMBER 1 for Spring semester, MAY 1 for Summer Sessions.

Even if you graduated with a degree from UT Austin and you wish to return to pursue additional course work, a second degree, or All-Level Teacher Certification, you will still apply for readmission as a former undergraduate student. As a former student, you will be readmitted into the last major code you held at the time you left the university. If you plan to change major within the Department of Art and Art History, you will also need to simultaneously apply for an internal change of major or addition of simultaneous major; for example, from Art History to Studio Art or Studio Art to Visual Art Studies/Teacher Certification. Follow the application requirements for internal Change of Major or Addition of Simultaneous Major applicants.
