NATIONAL PORTFOLIO DAYS IN TEXAS

The Department of Art and Art History will attend the following National Portfolio Day Association (NPDA) Portfolio Review Events. Applicants will find these two events very helpful in their search for information on art programs. There will be over 50 art colleges, institutes, and schools in attendance at this event. Representatives from UT Austin's Department of Art and Art History will be present to provide program, admission, and portfolio information, as well as to review and provide feedback on your art portfolios. Don't miss this event!

It is not necessary to formally register for NPDA events. You need only to attend the sessions that interest you. Should you have questions about what to bring, please visit the Tips section on the National Portfolio Day Association's web site.

RISE AND SHINE AT EXPLORE UT

Austin: Saturday, March 5, 2011. (Various section times open to high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors and other section times open to all transfer applicants.)

Rise and Shine is a 40-minute information session for prospective applicants and their families held during Explore UT, "the biggest open house in Texas." The focus of the Rise & Shine information session is the UT Austin admissions process. UT Austin admissions counselors will provide an overview of the admissions process and a panel of current UT Austin students will answer your questions about life as a Longhorn. Advanced registration is required.

Some Longhorn Saturdays have become invitation-only events. If you and your family have been invited by the Office of Admissions to attend, you should and you will find out more about admissions, paying for college, academic majors, life on The University of Texas at Austin campus and more! DISCOVER UT

Austin: Monday, October 10, 2011. (Open to any Prospective Freshmen Applicant only.)

Discover UT is a half-day program for high school juniors and seniors held on Columbus Day, on the UT Austin campus. It's the perfect opportunity to visit campus on a weekday while the campus is full of activity. Discover UT will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at approximately 12:30 p.m. after a walking tour of campus. Our goal is to provide a realistic picture of what life as a Longhorn student is all about while sharing with you and your family some important information about the admissions process, on-campus housing options and the financial aid and scholarship application process. Parents are highly encouraged to attend Discover UT with their son or daughter. Academic interest sessions will be offered following the Discover UT morning program. When you register for Discover UT, you'll also be able to attend a Fine Arts academic interest session to be held during the afternoon, following the Office of Admissions program.

TRANSFER TO TEXAS*

Austin: Saturday, November 12, 2011. (*While the Office of Admission's Transfer to Texas event is open only to Transfer and CAP Applicants, prospective Freshmen Applicants interested in attending the Department of Art and Art History's information and portfolio review session are welcome to register via our departmental registeration system below.)

Each Longhorn for a Day brings seniors, identified by regional UT Austin admission offices, from a select area in Texas to campus to experience a Saturday at UT Austin. This free, invitation-only program provides admissions, housing, financial aid, and scholarship info along with fun activities for students!

ADMISSION MEETING AND PORTFOLIO REVIEW ON UT AUSTIN CAMPUS

Department of Art and Art History will host a departmental admission meeting, portfolio review, and self-guided tours of our facilities. To register for the Department's admission meeting and portfolio review, please complete the registration form fields below. After we receive your registration, a confirmation email will be sent; please allow five business days for confirmation email. Details of the day's events, times, locations, and additional information about portfolio content (if participating in portfolio review) will be emailed to you a week prior to the event date.
