John Stoney studied at Central School of Art, St. Martins School in London England. He received his B.F.A. from Syracuse University of Visual and Performing Arts, NY and his M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI. Between degrees he served in the Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa. He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY and Austin Texas where he is an assistant professor in the college of art at UT Austin. He is represented by Caren Golden Fine Arts in New York.
