The Blanton's outstanding collection features prints from the 15th century through the present, including masterpieces by Marcantonio Raimondi, Albert Dürer, Rembrandt, William Blake, Matisse, Picasso, and Jasper Johns, among many others.

In addition to the American and Latin American prints, the 8,500 European prints are distinguished in the following areas:

  • Marcantonio Raimondi and his school
  • The Little Masters of 16th-century Nuremburg
  • The Dutch Mannerists
  • 17th century Italian etchers
  • 17th, 18th, and early 19th-century French printmaking generally
  • Late 18th- and early 19th-century British printmaking
  • Romantic lithography
  • The Etching Revival in Britain and France
  • Modern wood engraving
  • The Swiss Concrete movement

The museum's collection of drawings includes examples from most periods and cultures and is particularly distinguished in two areas: contemporary Latin American drawings, including works by Luis Benedit and Juan Calzadilla, and Renaissance and Baroque drawings from Italy, France, and Europe.The Old Master drawings are among the finest in the United States, featuring works by Raphael, Correggio, and Luca Cambiaso.
