The division of Academic Affairs is responsible for overseeing the management of a wide variety of support programs for the faculty: awards and grants, teaching load credits, fellowships and leaves, and various faculty development workshops. Student programs and policies managed through Academic Affairs include scholarships and fellowships, TA / AI budgets, competitive scholarship exemptions, and various college and course–related student fees. The division also oversees the review and approval of new academic programs and policies. Various routine and one–time special events are managed in the division including Explore UT, the K–16 Arts Education Summit, and a 2003 international cultural policy conference, the “International Creative Sector,” co–sponsored by UNESCO and the U.S. State Department.
