Steven Dietz's mystery, "Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure" produced by the Arizona Theatre Company, has been nominated along with two other productions for a 2007 Edgar Award.
Named for the master of suspense Edgar Allan Poe, the awards are handed out by The Mystery Writers of America. Nominations were announced Jan. 19. Winners will be announced at the Edgar Week convention in Manhattan April 23-27.
"Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure" is adapted from William Gillette's smash play Sherlock Holmes, as well as two stories by Arthur Conan Doyle ("A Scandal in Bohemia" and "The Final Problem"). It premiered at Arizona Theatre Company and Pasadena Playhouse in 2006 and was also seen at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre and is blossoming this season elsewhere.
