Professor Lucien Douglas
Professor Lucien Douglas is currently involved in a movie shoot of Austin-based film produced, written, and directed by Travis Knapp, called “The Sno Cone Stand.” He plays Mr. Tippen, a wealthy, upscale businessman who is aggressive, both professionally and personally. Morgan Fairchild and Tony Sirico (of the Sopranos) star in the movie along with the young lead played by Ryan Carnes.
“The Sno Cone Stand” is a Texas-based comedy about three stockbroker trainees who hate their jobs and self-absorbed boss Mr. Bob (Sirico) and try to get rich quick by launching a snow cone business.
The film shoot takes place all around Austin from September 12 – October 11. This is the latest in Douglas’ extensive film on stage, film and television career and he is thrilled to be a part of it. “I’m having a great time and the cast is wonderful,” he says. “I’m doing my first on-camera fight scene ever in this film, where I wrestle the young lead, Ryan Carnes.”
Catch Professor Douglas on October 25th at the Harry Ransom Center for an event that he’s directing and acting in called “Up Against the American Dream.” He and five M.F.A. in Acting students act out scenes from various Arthur Miller plays alongside critique, commentary, and background information provided by PPP Professor Charlotte Canning.
