UT Austin Dance and Music Collaboration
The name Ears, Eyes & Feet gives us only an idea of what we might experience in this exciting and experimental annual collaboration between the UT Austin Department of Theatre and Dance and School of Music. Advanced choreographers, graduate student musicians, dancers, and computer animators collaborate together to find new ways of perceiving art in EARS, EYES, AND FEET, running May 3-4 at 8:00 pm in the B. Iden Payne Theatre.
In "Sound-Movement," the audience will see dancers perform choreography by graduate student Julie Nathanielsz to the sound of an improvisational ensemble that includes saxophone, cello, and two laptops! It is an evening of digital dance collaboration.
Directed by Associate Professor of Dance Lyn C. Wiltshire and Professor of Music Russell Pinkston, EARS, EYES AND FEET runs May 3 & 4 at 8:00 pm in the B. Iden Payne Theatre, Winship Drama Building on UT campus (300 E. 23rd Street). Admission is FREE. For more information, visit http://www.finearts.utexas.edu/tad.
