Playwriting Alum debuts Off–Broadway at Theatre Row

Umbrella, by Larry Pontius (M.F.A. Playwriting, '05) produced by Alchemy Theatre Company of Manhattan

Umbrella, starring Christa Kimlicko–Jones (M.F.A. Acting '04), is a mix of tragedy and comedy about the loneliness and despair of living in a big city and the choices one makes to relieve the pressure.

Written as Pontius' thesis play, Umbrella was originally presented as part of the 2005 University Co–op presents the David Mark Cohen New Works Festival at the University of Texas at Austin.

Umbrella runs April 11 – May 4, 2008.
