Grad Student's Play Presented in New York

Theater Masters National M.F.A. Playwright's Festival

Presented by Theater Masters, nine plays from The National M.F.A. Playwright's Festival will be highlighted in New York City's Atlantic Theater's Stage Two on May 8, 9 and 10.

Founded and directed by Julia Hansen (formally of the Drama League of New York), Theater Masters is an organization dedicated to the development of new works for the theatre and the growth of the next generation of artists for the American Theatre. This year, Theater Masters selected nine talented playwrights from across the country to develop their work in showcase readings.

The work of UT M.F.A. Playwriting Candidate, Jenny Connell, will be one of of the nine works highlighted in New York. To learn more about Ms. Connell's Theater Masters experience, visit the Spotlight on the Department of Theatre and Dance website.

Ryan King, a 2001 graduate of UT Theatre and Dance, is one of the actors starring in the nine winning plays being showcased.
