Unlike the College of Fine Arts Staff Excellence Award, the Employee of the Semester is nominated and chosen entirely by fellow staff members.

Blanton Museum, and the Office of the Dean) is selected by his/her respective unit. The nominee should routinely strive for excellence in the workplace and not be bound by the confines of his/her job description.

Eligibility

Eligibility for the Employee of the Semester Award is determined as follows:

  • Nominees should be current College of Fine Arts employees (non-teaching) in regular (20 hours per week / benefits accruing) positions having at least one calendar year of service to the college at the time of nomination.
  • The following groups are not eligible for the Employee of the Semester Award: faculty, the heads of the six units, associate deans, assistant deans, directors, or associate directors.
  • An employee can only receive the Employee of the Semester Award once every two years. The employee is again eligible for nomination in the third year. Winners of the Staff Excellence Award (a separate award) for the previous two years are also ineligible. Eligibility will begin again in the third year.
