The College of Fine Arts Staff Excellence Award is given annually to recognize outstanding accomplishments by staff members of the college. Each year, one staff member is chosen for a College of Fine Arts Staff Excellence Award from each of the six units of the college (viz. the Department of Art and Art History, the School of Music, the Department of Theatre and Dance, the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art, the Performing Arts Center, and the Office of the Dean).

Award

Staff Excellence Award recipients will receive:

  • $1,000 (less required payroll deductions)
  • A certificate or plaque
  • Two tickets to a PAC event (excluding some events, e.g., Broadway shows)
  • Two season tickets for the School of Music Jessen Series
  • Two season tickets for Department of Theatre and Dance productions
  • A family membership to the Blanton Museum

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for a Staff Excellence Award, the nominee must be a current employee of the College of Fine Arts at the time of the nomination and of the award.
  • The nominee must have been an employee of the college for at least one calendar year as of the date of nomination.
  • The nominee must be appointed in a regular, benefits-accruing position of at least 20 hours per week.
  • Faculty and staff from any of the six units within the college may nominate any eligible staff person within the college. However, if nominating a staff member from another unit you should check with the unit head for the nominee's eligibility status.
  • Employees whose appointment is primarily staff, but who teach on an occasional or part-time basis, are eligible for nomination.
  • With the exceptions noted below, Administrative and Professional ("Code 1000") employees are eligible.
  • The following people are not eligible for the College of Fine Arts Staff Excellence Award: faculty, the heads of the six units, Associate Deans, Assistant Deans, Directors, and Associate Directors.
  • An employee can only receive a Staff Excellence Award once every two years. The employee is again eligible for nomination in the third year.
