What is ida? It's the online interactive degree audit system for students seeking undergraduate degrees at the University, it lets you view and create degree audits, plan courses for future semesters, and find advising resources. Prospective students may use the IDA Planner to see how courses from other schools may apply to UT Austin degrees.
Who can use ida? Current and recent UT Austin students and students admitted for a future semester may see their official academic records. Prospective students may enter transfer courses in the IDA planner. A UT EID is required. To create an audit, IDA compares the courses on your academic record and the courses you plan to take to the requirements for the degree you select. The results is an estimate of your progress toward completion of the degree.
Important: UT students are encouraged to meet regularly with their academic advisors. IDA is not a substitute for required advising, for requesting an official degree audit, or for filing an application for graduation; these are your responsibility. You are also responsible for meeting the prerequisites for all courses you plan to take. Entering a course in IDA's planner does not register you for the course, reserve a seat, or guarantee that UT Austin will schedule a course when you plan to take it. If you are a prospective student, using the planner does not guarantee our admission to UT Austin. some requirements, like the substantial writing component requirement, may be fulfilled only by specific sections of a course; these sections cannot be identified by IDA until you have registered for the course.
