Biography:
Erik Viker is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania where he teaches courses in Theatre Production, Stage Management and Dramatic Literature and serves as Faculty Technical Director for the Department of Theatre. He spends his summers working as a freelance technical director and production manager, and provides operations and technology consulting to civic theatres year-round. Viker's research interests include the role of technical theatre in liberal arts education and his articles on theatre safety and small theatre management have appeared nationally in Stage Directions magazine and the quarterly journal Theatre Design and Technology. Viker is a member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (currently serving on the Publications Committee), the American Association of Community Theatre, the Libertarian Party and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local 636.
