Current projects/research/interests/hobbies:

I continue to research the material aspects of artists lives. Currently, I am converting my dissertaton, Aritists Material Practices: the Ideology of Funding and Support for Independent Performing Artists, into a book. As a writer-Performer, I will premiere Higher Planes, a play, in San Antonio (Jump-Start Performance Co.) in October, move it to Houston (Diverseworks) in November, and Anchorage, AK (OutNorth) in January. I sit on the Artist Council for Leveraging Investments in Creativity, an organization supporting new forms of support for artists in the United States.

The biggest risk you have taken to date (can be career-related or not):

* I was a working artist who went to graduate school to research the material aspects of my field.
