What you enjoy most about being a part of the UT Department of Theatre & Dance:

What I enjoy most about being a part of the UT T&D department are the many opportunities for interaction with our students. Either in the classroom, in the hallway or in the theatre during the tech process, I find I am continually challenged, encouraged and inspired by working with our students. Any time I see students succeeding or discovering something about themselves, I am thrilled. It is continually rewarding experience for me to be here at UT with our remarkable undergraduate and graduate students.

Favorite thing about Austin:

Oddly enough, the weather! I love how consistent it can be. When it is hot, it is really hot, but that is somehow comforting after all the excessive air conditioning we live with. I also love the size of the town, the shopping and dining variety and the different neighborhoods.

Current projects/research/interests/hobbies:

I love to read, and eat out with friends. I love going to see movies at the Alamo Drafthouse. I travel as often as possible visiting friends and family around the country.

The biggest risk you have taken to date:

Quitting my “real” job in the Theatre to come here to teach. I thought my professional network would stagnate; however it has grown in ways I never imagined.

Something about yourself that we wouldn't know from reading your professional biography:

I have been practicing Buddhism daily since 1986 and I find great strength and benefit through my practice and interactions with my faith community.
