What you enjoy most about being a part of the UT Department of Theatre & Dance:
What I enjoy most about being a part of the UT T&D Department are the many opportunities for interaction with our students. Either in the classroom, in the hallway or in the theatre during the tech process, I find I am continually challenged, encouraged and inspired by working with our students. Any time I see students succeeding or discovering something about themselves, I am thrilled. It is continually rewarding experience for me to be here at UT with our remarkable undergraduate and graduate students.
Favorite thing about Austin:
Oddly enough, the weather! I love how consistent it can be. When it is hot, it is really hot, but that is somehow comforting after all the excessive air conditioning we live with. I also love the size of the town, the shopping and dining variety and the different neighborhoods.
Current projects/research/interests/hobbies:
I love to read, eat out, and play with my dog and cats. In general, if there is playing involved, I'm there!
The biggest risk you have taken to date:
Quitting my “real” job in the Theatre to come here to teach. I don't know how this one will pan out yet, but so far the rewards of teaching outweigh the risk of losing any status in the professional world.
Something about yourself that we wouldn't know from reading your professional biography:
I have a Nintendo DS and am getting involved with playing Video games. Animal Crossing rules! I have a long way to go to master the XBOX 360 controller, but I love playing video games!
