The BFA Dance Placement auditions provide placement for admission into majors level dance technique classes. An intermediate knowledge of either ballet or contemporary dance will serve students best for placement into dance technique courses that are restricted to dance majors.

Attire for the Ballet audition consists of a leotard and tights with hair secured away from the face. Ballet slippers are required for the Ballet placement audition.

Often as a result of the placement audition, Theatre and Dance faculty recommend placement in non-majors classes to Non-theatre and Dance majors.  Placement at that level does not guarantee a student's enrollment in non-major dance classes, however; it is only an indicator of where the student will make the most progress at that particular time. No audition is necessary to enroll in the non-major TD 302T dance classes; enrollment in TD 302T dance classes for non-majors is first come first serve via ROSE online registration.
