Admissions
The Department of Theatre and Dance admits students in the Fall semester only.
Admission to the UT Department of Theatre and Dance is selective. Applicants must first apply to The University of Texas through the Office of Admissions and must meet the general admission requirements of The University. General undergraduate admission to UT is based on the student's high school academic record, SAT or ACT scores, extra curricular work, volunteer work and essays. Transfer students are admitted on the basis of 30 hours of transferable college credits, GPA and resume.
After all applications are received by the UT Office of Admissions, applications will then be reviewed by the Department of Theatre and Dance for acceptance as a Theatre and Dance major. For B.F.A. Dance applicants, an audition is required.
The decisions made by the Theatre and Dance Admissions Committee will be sent to the UT Austin Admissions Office. Work through the UT Office of Admissions to apply to the Department of Theatre and Dance. You will be notified of your admission status by the UT Austin Office of Admissions.
Please contact the UT Office of Admissions with any questions related to the UT admission process.
