
Degree Programs
Rachel Atkinson is a second year M.F.A. candidate in Lighting Design from Boulder, Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a B.F.A. in Lighting Design and Technology in 2009. Rachel has worked at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival for several years as a designer and lighting supervisor. While at the UT Rachel has designed lighting for Physical Language: Dance Repertory Theatre as well as the new play 360 (round dance) by Steven Dietz. Upcoming projects include New York Stories, and The Edge of Peace.

Kaitlyn Aylward is a second year M.F.A. candidate in Costume Design from Santa Fe, New Mexico. She graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2004 with a B.F.A. in Fashion Design. Kaitlyn has worked in New York City for Cynthia Rowley, Stella McCartney, and Nylon Magazine. She worked at the Santa Fe Opera for two years as an apprentice stitcher. During her time at UT she has designed costumes for the dance concerts Physical Language (2011) and Catalyst (2012). Kaitlyn's upcoming design projects include The Cataract directed by Daria Davis.
Hope MacRoberts Bennett is a first-year M.F.A. candidate in Costume Design. She earned a B.F.A. in Fibers from the Maryland Institute, College of Art and studied at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland, UK. Hope fell into theater in Philadelphia, working in and eventually managing the costume shop at the 43-year old touring company American Family Theater. She also assisted at the Walnut Street Theatre on The Producers and the Curtis Institute on Mozart’s Idomeneo. Credits from her two years at Asbury Park, NJ’s ReVision Theatre include managing for The Who’s Tommy and designing the premiere of the new musical The Bikinis. Favorite credits include Acting Without a License’s production of Craig Wright’s The Pavilion in Bloomsburg, PA. Attending graduate school to pursue her longtime love of opera, Hope is designing costumes for the Butler School of Music’s upcoming premiere of Daron Aric Hagen’s New York Stories. She is also thrilled to have been chosen to design the premiere of Gabriel Jason Dean’s Bacha Bazi and the UT Austin/Seattle Children’s Theatre’s premiere of Susan Zeder’s The Edge of Peace.
Rowan Doyle is a first year M.F.A. candidate in Theatrical Design. She has earned two undergraduate degrees, one in English Literature and one in Design for the Theatre, both from Concordia University in Montreal. Her resume includes assistant set designer on Geordie's production of The Jungle Book, props for Le Salon Automat, where she built three working automatons, and assistant costume design for a production of Isadora Fabulist at Monument National. She also spent three months working with Bread and Puppet Theatre where she wrote, built and performed in their circus.

Jennifer Singletary is an M.F.A. candidate in Scenic Design. She recently designed the sets for DRT's Canción del Cuerpo, The Rope: Tres Momentos and for UTNT's White Tie Ball.
She assisted the set designer for Breaking String Theatre's production of The Cherry Orchard. For the past 4 seasons, she was the Properties Designer for multiple shows at Austin Playhouse, and worked as a scenic artist for their productions of Age of Arousal and Dug Up. She was Properties Assistant on the Zilker Theatre Productions of The Music Man, My Favorite Year and Beauty and the Beast. She has worked in the art department for various films, commercials, and music videos. She has also worked in technical theatre at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and for the AnimaDance Company in North Carolina.

Proletina is a first year M.F.A. candidate in Costume Design, pursuing interests in film as well as theatre. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008 with a BS in Apparel Design, she worked in a costume shop constructing costumes for The Lyric Opera of Chicago, The Metropolitan Opera of New York, and others. Recent projects include Blue Point by Kyle Schmidt, White Tie Ball by Martin Zimmerman, and the 2010 DRT performances My Shadow is Crooked, ZoomInn, and Three Tangos. With an interest in Film, Proletina has also worked on several short films since coming to UT. These include costume assistance on The Falconer directed by Micah Barber, costume design for The Pond directed by Leslie and Ashley Saunders, and costume design for La Lupita directed by Ivete Lucas.
Proletina is looking forward to her upcoming productions at UT. In the upcoming year, she will be designing Fight by Kimber Lee, directed by Charlie Otte, and Three Penny Opera by Bertolt Brecht, directed by Halena Kays. And more to come!
