Degree Programs
A prerequisite (commonly called "prereq") is typically a course or test requirement that students must meet before enrolling in a particular course. Visit the Office of the Registrar to see courses available in the prerequisite system or check yourself against a course prereq.
Sometimes, you must get consent from the instructor in order to enroll in a particular class. Consult the Course Schedule to determine whether you need to obtain consent or not.
You must be a Theatre and Dance major (or get consent of instructor) in order to take most Theatre and Dance courses. Non-major courses will not have a prerequisite of being a Theatre and Dance major and are listed on the Theatre and Dance Non-Majors page.
Upper-Division Standing or Graduate Standing is also a requirement before you can take particular courses.
Few courses offered to majors in the Department of Theatre and Dance require you to have taken (and passed) another course. For example:
TD 324 Design and Technology for Performance
Prereqs: TD314C and 314M
Most classes only require you to be a Theatre and Dance major, to obtain consent from your instructor, or to be upper-division or graduate standing.
ANY STUDENT WHO DOES NOT MEET PREREQUISITE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE DROPPED
