
Degree Programs
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance is a limited-enrollment program that offers intensive, professional training within an academic setting. Students automatically become performing members of the resident student dance company. Core course requirements include daily technique classes in contemporary and ballet technique and additional courses in choreography, performance and related dance studies. Admission is based on audition, academic records, letters of recommendation, and essay.

Video Auditions
If you are unable to attend a live audition, you may send a video tape or DVD including examples of your ballet barre work, center adagio, turns, moving across the floor and jumps (you do not have to show every step on both sides). Please also include a two-minute contemporary solo and one minute of improvisation. You are welcome to include a brief statement as to why the University of Texas' dance program is attractive to you at the beginning of the video.
