THE UNIVERSITY CO–OP PRESENTS THE COHEN NEW WORKS FESTIVAL announces the 2009 festival roster. Renowned for its celebration of new work created by UT Students, and valuing innovation and collaboration across disciplines, NEW WORKS FESTIVAL is pleased to announce 34 new works culminating in a week–long spectacle of performance, installation and participation.
Broadening its exposure and impact, the 2009 NEW WORKS FESTIVAL includes multiple exhibitions at the Blanton Museum and three outdoor site–specific works. With generous support from the University Co–op, all events are free.
Students play a central role in producing NEW WORKS FESTIVAL, taking on administrative duties as well as creating the artistic content. Faculty share in the creative processes and mentor students in the realization of their creative visions. Selected guest artists from around the world come to UT to participate and respond to the volume of new work. Bringing professionals into the learning environment to make great work and life long connections serves students beyond their studies at The University of Texas at Austin.
The 2009 Festival Roster includes 15 new plays, 6 new dance works, 3 art installations, over 10 commissioned pieces of music, and a host of trans–disciplinary events that defy definition.
THE ROSTER IS NOW ONLINE!
