Barney Hammond

Barney Hammond is an international voice coach who has been associated with Stratford Festival Theatre and Shaw Festival Theatre of Canada, The Shakespeare Theatre, The Old Globe Theatre, and Canadian Stage Company of Toronto.

He was Head of Voice for The School of Drama, North Carolina School of the Arts. Many of his students are currently working on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in regional theatre, film, and television, as well as The Royal Shakespeare Company.

In addition, he has served on the faculty of The National Theatre School of Canada and taught students from the Moscow Art Theatre School.

He has coached over 75 professional productions with leading directors such as Michael Langham, Barry Kyle, Joe Dowling, Vivian Matalon, David William, Michael Kahn, Christopher Newton, William Gaskill, and Tony Award Winning Actors: Brian Bedford and Ron Silver.

He trained at London's Central School of Speech and Drama.
