Kirk Lynn

Kirk Lynn is the playwright-in-residence and one of six Co-Producing Artistic Directors of Rude Mechs. With the Rudes Kirk has written and adapted more than a dozen plays, including Lipstick Traces, Cherrywood, and The Method Gun, which will premiere at the 34th Annual Humana Festival of New American Plays in the Spring of 2010. Next up for the Rudes, I've Never Been So Happy, a Western Operetta, book and lyrics by Kirk Lynn, winner of an NEA New Play Development Award, is set to premiere in Fall 2010. Kirk also adapted The Wrestling Patient, a finalist for an NEA New Play Production Award, for 40 Magnolias in Boston. And he wrote Major Bang for The Foundry Theatre in New York, with whom he is working on a new commission about “value” and its myriad meanings in America. Kirk received his M.F.A. from the Michener Center for Writers and is currently at work on a novel about werewolves.
