Lorn MacDougal

During a 25 year career as a professional dancer Lorn MacDougal was known for her technical and dramatic power, peforming in works by Martha Graham, Hanya Holm, Jose Limon, Bertram Ross, Phoebe Neville, and Bill Evans. She was a member of the companies of Phyllis Lamhut, Lar Lubovitch, Daniel Nagrin, and Don Redlich. Her collaborations with fillmaker/composer Alain Le Razer have been presented at numerous venues and festivals in NYC, the US, Europe and Asia. Lorn has been on the dance faculties of Princeton University, Rutgers University, the University of New Mexico, and Alvin Ailey School of American Dance, and was a guest teacher at the Juilliard School and NYU Tisch School of the Arts from which she holds an MFA in performance and choreography. Lorn directed Transitions Dance Company at Laban Centre London and taught extensively in the Netherlands, Germany and Poland before relocating to Austin in 2008.
