Andee Scott

Andee Scott, M.F.A., began her dance training at Ballet Austin and continued her Studies with William Martin-Viscount at the Southwest Ballet Center in Fort Worth,TX. As a member of the Fort Worth City Ballet, under the direction of Wm. Martin-Viscount, she performed as a soloist in a number of ballets, including Paquita, Les Sylphides, Pas de Quatre and Giselle, as well as numerous roles in The Nutcracker including Dew Drop and Arabian Queen.

She began her training in modern dance at the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a B.A. in Dance in addition to a B.A. in German. As a performer/collaborator, Andee has been a member of Michael Foley Dance, Johnson/Long Dance Company, Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth and Andrea Beckham Collaborative. She has also performed with David Dorfman Dance and AlienNation Co., under the direction of Johannes Birringer. Her international performances include San José, Costa Rica with Sharir+Bustamante Danceworks, Limassol, Cyprus, working with Lambros Lambrou and Andrea Beckham, and Mexico City, participating in the XVIII Premio INBA-UAM Festival.

Currently, Andee is in her fifth season with Sharir+Bustamante Danceworks. She has also been working with Sally Jacques for the past five years, developing and performing aerial work (and roller-skating) in site-specific productions.

Her latest project involves commissioning duet works with duet partner Theresa Hardy from various independent choreographers. The first work in the project is The Sky is Falling, choreographed by Michael Foley; the work premiered at The Reiman Center for the Performing Arts at Harvard University in January 2005 and was made possible through financial support from the University of Texas at Austin's Theatre and Dance Department, Harvard University Dance Program and the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of South Florida.

Andee's own work exploring perspective through video and dance was nominated for an Austin Critics Table award for Best Choreography, and in 1999, she received an Honorable Mention in Choreography at The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for her work on Waiting for the Parade.
