Leslie Dworkin

Leslie Dworkin has been choreographing, teaching, and performing throughout the United States, and in Europe for the past 15 years. She has received numerous choreographic fellowships including a Djerassi Artist Fellowship, one from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and two as part of the Philadelphia Repertory Development Initiative. Her work has been part of the Movement Research Exchange program and the New Dance Series at the Knitting Factory, and she was a choreographer-in-residence from 1992-1995 in the Susan Hess Choreographers Project in Philadelphia. She has been a member of the Leah Stein Dance Company, Melanie Stewart Dance Company, and has worked with such noted choreographers as Ralph Lemon, Bebe Miller, Maureen Fleming, and many others. Leslie's national and international touring has included performances at Jacob's Pillow, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Kitchen, Judson Church, Joyce SoHo, and Dixon Place. Leslie has an MFA from Temple University and has taught in numerous dance departments including UCLA, University of North Carolina/Greensboro, Oberlin College, Bryn Mawr College, and Ohio University. Leslie is currently adjunct faculty at UT/Austin. She is a certified Trager bodywork practitioner.
