Andy Johnson grew up in a small New York town, near Kurt Weill's South Mountain Road retreat. After graduating from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama, Mr. Johnson went on to manage events for the Texas Performing Arts, including appearances by Lyle Lovett, Ballet Africans, Wynton Marsalis, Sankai Juku, the Righteous Brothers, and Tori Amos. Mr. Johnson also studied with performance artists Annie Sprinkle and Linda Montano.
Mr. Johnson was the Graduate Coordinator for the Department of Sociology from 1998-2003, where he was awarded the College of Liberal Arts Award for Outstanding Service by a Staff Member and the President's Exemplary Service Award. His short fiction has been published at Borderblur and Dangerbunny. He has one daughter.
