Mary Kay joined the department in September 1994, and since the fall of 2003, has been serving as the department's Executive Assistant overseeing staff and the general administrative operations of the department. Prior to her current position, Mary Kay served as Graduate Program Coordinator for the department, receiving an Outstanding Graduate Coordinator Award in May 2003.
A native Texan, Mary Kay is in training with her Great Pyrenees for hospital therapy work and with her Border Collie pup for agility courses. Additionally, she is a member of several art quilt organizations and a certified Master Gardener. Every chance she gets, Mary Kay spends time with her grandson.
