The Department's Distinguished Lecture Series in Performance as Public Practice is an annual lectureship series that brings between four and six guest artists and scholars to UT each year to give free public lectures.
The Performance as Public Practice graduate emphasis in the Department of Theatre and Dance at The University of Texas at Austin explores the widest possible parameters of performance in its relationship to historical and contemporary global culture as well as to local communities. The program applies the skills of performance theory and practice to expand the civic and academic dialogue prompted by the work of citizen/artist/scholars.
