Shakespeare's MACBETH

The Cursed Scottish Play in the Hands of Kenneth Albers!

Nov 11, 13, 17, 18 & 19 @ 8PM & Nov 13, 19 & 20 @ 2:00PM
in UT's Oscar G. Brockett Theatre

The University of Texas Department of Theatre & Dance welcomes Kenneth Albers for a fresh take on Macbeth, William Shakespeare's popular tragedy, a relentless examination of the power of lust and guilt. Mr. Albers has gained notoriety as an actor and director on such stages as The Cleveland Playhouse, Portland Center Stage, American Players Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Syracuse Stage, Deaf West Theatre, The National Theater of the Deaf, and most recently the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, where he is known for his eclectic updates in the presentation of the Bard's classics.

Macbeth is a cold, dark night of a tale, revolving around the murder of a king and the descent of his killers into paranoia, insomnia, and madness. Audiences can expect a dynamic performance from the UT MFA Actors that will raise the notch on this classic tragedy of blood and ambition.

Mr. Albers' productions of Shakespeare have been described as unexpected, scintillating, and enthralling. He joins his talents with UT's graduate student actors for the third play in the Department's exciting 67th season, showing November 11, 13, 17-19 @ 8:00 and November 13, 19 & 20 @ 2:00 PM in UT's Oscar G. Brockett Theatre, 300 E. 23rd in the Winship Drama Building. Tickets are $16 adults; $13 faculty/staff; $10 students, available at www.utpac.org, 477-6060 or UT PAC Ticket Offices located at Bass Concert Hall (M-F, noon-6PM) and Hogg Auditorium (M-F, 10-2PM).
