The University of Texas Department of Theatre and Dance presents the world premiere of The Marriage Miss Hollywood and King Neptune, the latest masterpiece by Pulitzer prize-winning playwright and UT alumnus Robert Schenkkan.

Robert Schenkkan (B.A. in Drama, 1975) is the author of nine full-length plays and numerous one-acts and mini-series adaptations for television. His play, The Kentucky Cycle, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and received a Tony nomination. Now, Schenkkan, who grew up in Austin, returns home for his world premiere!

Miss Hollywood is a "screwball" comedy a la Kaufman and Hart, set against the backdrop of early Hollywood and classic Los Angeles political corruption. A sly-as-a-fox talent agent, Manny Weisenberg, has got a few problems. He's losing clients, his girlfriend, and the mob is losing patience with him. Manny's solution? He creates the greatest seaside pageant ever seen, "The Marriage of Miss Hollywood and King Neptune." The play is directed by critically acclaimed actor/director Lucien Douglas and stars a huge cast of talented UT students, nearly 40 in all!

Don't miss the world premiere of The Marriage of Miss Hollywood and King Neptune November 4,5,8-11 & 13 at 8PM and November 5,6 & 13 at 2PM in UT's B. Iden Payne Theatre. Tickets are $16 adults, $13 faculty/staff, and $10 students, available at www.utpac.org, 512.477.6060 or (800) 687-6010.
