Summer Youth Programs
The Department of Theatre and Dance hosts residential dance and theatre summer programs from June through the beginning of August.
The American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive is a well established program for middle school and high school aged students.
The only program of its kind in the country, the Texas Musical Theatre Workshop (TMTW) is designed to foster the development of new musicals and provide a bridge for young artists to the professional world.

Our Theatre and Dance faculty and students design and propel the department's outreach activities.
Discover Drama for Schools and the strategies we use throughout Texas and beyond to activate learning and increase student engagement in K-12 classrooms. Our outreach programs make an impact within Austin and the greater Texas communities while also generating scholarly research that contributes greatly to the field of theatre for young people.
