Special Programs
The Second Youth Summer Theatre Academy is a series of programs for 6–17 year olds learning life skills through theatre skills by taking classes from professionally trained actors. Each of our programs culminates in a performance for friends, family, and the Austin community. Students taking classes will also be considered for Second Youth main stage productions.
The Theatre Academy is determined to give students the opportunity to rediscover their imagination. Our goal is to give each student the knowledge to gain confidence as a performer as well as enhance each student's collaborative and social skills. Students will work together to write their own script using improvisational techniques as well as do scene work from plays that will be appearing in Second Youth's season. The end result will be a final production, giving each student the pride of creating something entirely their own, from start to finish.
